Want to change up your style, maybe want to go with a 70’s vibe but don’t know how to style your hair? I gotchu!
For my first hairstyle, I went for a super easy look. BRAIDS!
If you know how to do a 3 strand braid, then you are all set! I looked up some inspo pics on Pinterest and found the cutest ones! 2 easy simple braids!
I sectioned off my hair and made 2 in. thick pieces in the front of my face and separated the rest of my hair. I braided tightly at the top of my scalp and loosened as I came down to the bottom of my neck.
For a messier look, pull apart the braid and secure the bottom with a hair elastic.
I repeated this step on the other side of my head and secured it with a hair elastic.
TIP #1 Don't want your tiny elastic shown in the braids, hairspray the edge of your fingers and rub on the end of the braid and voila!
I wanted a more sleek look and bobby pinned the braids behind my ears under my hair. That way the bobby pins were hidden and the look wasn’t ruined.
TIP#2 Want a more bohemian look? Add more small braids in random spots of your hair and pull them apart for a messier look.
2nd Hairstyle!
Hair scarfs! These are super trendy right now! I used a headband and curled my hair. I wanted a looser look, so I pulled out some pieces of my hair in the front and framed my face a bit.
This hairstyle looks really cute if your hair is straight or just leave it natural and put your headband or hair scarf in.
3rd Hairstyle!
I tried the Farrah Fawcett/ Stevie Nicks inspo with this one!
This hairstyle took me a little longer than the other two.
I started off with clean dry hair and sectioned off my hair starting with the bottom half.
I curled all the pieces away from my face and kept them on the curling wand 3 seconds longer than I usually do. Don’t worry these curls are supposed to be tight and bouncy! I finished the section and grabbed a scrunchie to separate the curls from my not curled pieces. I continued curling my hair, spraying each layer with hairspray and finished curling the top layer.
TIP#1! Curl your hair closer to your scalp with this hairstyle. This makes the curl tighter and your hair is curled all the way up and not half way through.
I let my hair cool for a few mins and sprayed it down with hairspray. I grabbed a wide tooth comb and combed through the curls. This is where the curls start to look a little funky! Some pieces I ended up curling again because I didn’t like the way they looked. My front framing pieces were super curly and I ended up clipping them in a form of a wave to get that “Farrah Fawcett” look. I let the clips stay in my hair for about 5 mins and sprayed with hairspray. I wanted more volume in my hair and teased the back in sections to get the height I wanted. Mess with the curls and move them around whatever you like the best!
I watched this video on how to create this look!
