Feeling Music, and How.

Ah the feeling of listening to music. From the old, to the new, music is what holds society together. From right to left, hot to cold, almost every person can find common ground with music, (with the exception of those who like country). Music can be played or used in a variety of ways, from clicking an app on your phone, to playing the piano.
Number 5: Your phone.
From pop to classical, your phone has almost every song or musical composition at your access. This gives you the opportunity to try a variety of new music, but sadly, that doesn’t happen all too much. Usually, with our phones, we are only listening to music to pass time, or for something to fill background spaces. This usually ends up with people creating a go to playlist, or station that they exclusively listen to, meaning a digital library isn’t always the best option for listening to music- placing it at a strong five.
Number 4: The radio.
The radio has a lot of pros, but also a number of cons. My favorite part of the radio is the option to choose a genre, but with the variety of not being able to choose the song. When you listen to the radio, there are a plethora of new songs for you to listen to, all in the genre of your choice! So many songs that have been ignored or forgotten get played on the radio everyday, making it a good option for “song discovery”! Another perk of radio, is nearly every car has access to an assortment of radio stations. Driving is a great opportunity to listen to music, it’s entertaining, but it’s also safe and less distracting than other forms of media. The only downside of listening to the radio is sound quality. Most of the time with car radios, sound quality isn’t the best. However, I think it is a small sacrifice for an amazing reward. But don’t be fooled; there are still better ways to listen to music.
Number 3: An instrument.
With instruments, there are so many options; piano, drums, woodwinds, there are SO MANY more. Using an instrument to listen to music or to play a song, is a wonderful experience. As someone who loves classical pieces such as “Clair De Lune” and “Moonlight Sonata” I love the sound of all things instruments. Especially piano. Being in the same room as the music is an out of body feeling. Seeing the fingers press the keys, and feeling the vibrations is amazing. It’s just too bad that you have to know how to play an instrument to listen this way. For anyone who might be reading this, I highly suggest learning an instrument. It’s worth it.
Number 2: Through friends.
Although this is not a way of making music itself, it's a way to find new music. Simply ask your friend, “lets play your music” or “you take the aux”. Music defines us as humans. And listening to others' music, gives us an idea of who they are, and can help us grow so much closer to them. Believe it or not, there is so SO much music out there that you haven’t heard, but would love. That is why it is so important to share music with others, for it can not be hoarded.
Number 1: Records/Vinyls.
This is my personal favorite, and in my opinion, the best way to listen to music. Just the feeling of buying, cleaning, and caring for a record is amazing. But listening to it is a whole other story. Putting the record on the mat, and then lowering the needle onto the record is the best feeling in the world. Hearing the little cracks just before the music makes me feel so excited and happy. And then you hear it. The beautiful tunes coming off the disk. Watching the music, feeling the music, it's so much more than just listening. Collecting records is one of the best ways to try new music. TAKE A RISK! Buy music you have never heard! And odds are(as long as it's not country) you will like it(as long as it's not country).
